"Surviving Alone in Alaska" - Heimo's family in earlier years.

There's a 52 minute video on YouTube titled "Surviving Alone in Alaska" about Heimo and his family in the earlier years. It's pretty interesting to watch. They show things like how the girls got their homeschooling. I think they said it was $4,000 (each?) to fly in tutors and books to get Edna started on how to teach them.

I'm not linking it with a hyperlink because sometimes when I do that the person then takes down the video so just search for the title. You can't miss it.

Does that video mention anything about the wife sleeping around with some indigenous folk? I mean the daughters all look half Eskimo. Just wondering who the real father/fathers are

Heimo is married to Edna who is native. You must mean the Lewis family. The girls have a genetic disorder that cause their eyes to look that way.

Thanks. Must be Downs syndrome

reply

No it's not Down Syndrome. All of the girls are very bright. The disorder is has nothing to do with intelligence.

I was being facetious

reply

Insensitive and stupid, yes.
Facetious, no.

reply

To be fair, down syndrome doesn't have anything to do with intelligence either necessarily. But I agree, it was a pretty uninformed comment.

The Lewis girls and their mother have Blepharophimosis Ptosis Epicanthus which is inherited
