Why was


this film booed? Was there a reason some people didn't like it?

I have not seen the picture yet, but from what I've read, some viewers at Cannes didn't like the very ambiguous ending. All the different story-lines that emerged during the movie weren't tidied-up to their satisfaction. From their perspective, they were watching and following along, and then suddenly the picture just ended -- and apparently some weren't happy about that. It had nothing to do with any of the performances.

Rest in peace, Roger Ebert. You were the best.

I saw it last night and found it basically unsatisfactory. The previous poster is correct that there was a lot left hanging/ambiguous. The amount of mumbling didn't help either. But what really wore on me was the large chunk of the film devoted to a TXT conversation.

I kinda doubted they could catch lightning in a bottle again, and ...

I read that the screening where it was booed was the press screening prior to the actual premiere later that day. At this second screening, Kristen Stewart received a 5 minute standing ovation...just goes to show how some films really do split opinion.

4/10 for me. Way too ambiguous. Artsy fartsy for artsy fartsy's sake.
