Saw this film at London Film Festival

Went to see this film thinking it may be a little too slow for me and for the first five minutes I thought oh dear. Without spoiling the plot I just thought what is this about, no explanation and I thought a little far fetched.

Then five minutes later the film started to explain itself and from that time I loved it. The acting was simply mesmerising.
Kristen was flawless in this movie. She held the screen with every little look, movement, so much so that I need to watch it again to see what little gems I missed the first time round.

The texting section of the film were so well done that I was engrossed with it (not bored at all)

The end (which was the reason for boos in Cannes) was fine for me, I immediately drew my conclusion as to what it meant. But as we walked out of the cinema people were discussing the film and coming to different conclusions to me. Now that is cleaver directing so big well done on that score. If you can't get the ending yourself then I am afraid you lack imagination. it is nice to be able to draw your own conclusion then you can make it happy or sad which ever is your preference.

If handled correctly this should be released before the end of the year so that it can get registered for Oscar consideration. I really could not forgive the distributor if they do not give this brilliant actress a chance she deserves. The performance has Oscar written all over it and it really wowed me.

I agree completely. An audience would have to be able to tolerate the slow unfolding of the story, and the uncertainty and ambiguity, which may be one reason some people found the film frustrating. I thought it was fantastic, suspenseful and full of interesting twists.
As for the ambiguous ending, I thought it fit perfectly with the overall story. It was about Maureen's uncertainty and existential confusion, which doesn't call for a pat answer.
Kristen Stewart's style of acting, which is naturalistic, but subtle and low-key, was perfect for this. I can see why Assayas was so impressed with her.
I doubt this movie would ever get Oscar nominations, but it was excellent, and deserves more attention.
