Does anyone know if the old movies of the kids on the beach were actually Churchill's home movies.
shareGiven that characters "Young Randolph", "Young Diana", "Young Sarah" and "Marigold" appear in the cast list in the credits, I would imagine that they are *not* Churchill's actual home movies.
shareThe Churchill offspring were born between 1909 and 1921. While motion picture photography existed by the end of that period, colour photography did not. And those films that survive from this period are very grainy and nowhere near the image quality we see in this film.
Clearly that footage was shot with the intention that it be the memories of Clementine of her children.
