Which prompts the question as to who did nurse Churchill at this time? It struck me that the job might have been too much for just one person who was expected to be available around the clock, but then of course some people do have permanent live-in carers.

I'm sure there were more than one nurse on duty at Chartwell. They would have needed the nursing care to be alert. You'd have a day nurse and a night nurse at least.
