In most movies, plays and TV shows the appearance of the characters is more or less different from the everyday appearance of the actors who portray them. A few productions are so cheap that the actors have to provide their costumes and do their own hair styling, etc., but most are not. In most cases the wardrobe and make up people, etc. decide what the actors portraying the characters look like during filming.
A few exceptions will illustrate the rule. In the Disney show Walk The Prank the character of Bailey wears her left arm in a sling sometimes - the episodes are shown out of production order. In one episode she broke her arm off screen. And it is believed that Bailey's actor Jillian Shea Spaeder actually did break her arm. Thus Bailey's sling seems to be an example of an actor-influenced costume detail.
Gary Coleman appeared in a couple of episodes of Buck Rogers in the Twenty Fifth Century wearing a futuristic looking silvery tunic. Coleman apparently acquired that costume because his character Arnold Jackson wore that futuristic tunic at least once in Diffr'nt Strokes.
It should be noted that real people, including children, including real child actors, may have different appearances and styles for different situations. Real children usually spend about six or seven hours a day at school dressed according to the dress code or even wearing school uniforms. In School of Rock the kids wear school uniforms at school.
In Bizardvark Paige and Frankie have three looks: School uniforms at school, their own styles most of the rest of the time, and whatever costumes they wear when making their funny videos. Since the appearances of Paige and Frankie vary so widely during the show, it is impossible for the everyday real life appearances of Olivia Rodrigo and Madison Hu to look identical to their characters.
It is perfectly natural that the creators of Game Shakers might costume and make up Madisyn Shipman to look childlike while on her own time she might prefer to look like an older teenager.
People grow and mature at different rates. I once bought lunch at a diner where one of the workers as a very cute blond boy about five feet tall and looking like a 12 year old. I saw that boy one night at a restaurant where he was a waiter and one of my companions asked if he was old enough to work there. He said he was sixteen and she couldn't believe it.
I once read a book about Civil War medal of honor soldiers. One soldier's account mentioned that when he enlisted he was eighteen years old and only about five feet tall and weighed only about 100 pounds.
Recently, about September 2016, I visited relatives. The boy who had just turned ten in August 2016 was about five feet tall. His sister who would turn fourteen in October 2016 was about six feet tall.
If all children grew at the rate of those kids Madisyn Shipman would be about ten compared to them. If you believe that everybody always tells the truth about their ages Madisyn Shipman should be fourteen. And if you are unsure about growth rates or people's honesty you made decide that Madisyn Shipman should be about ten to twenty years old.
