Who was the Philip who was later beheaded

at the end where they note the future of certain persons, they noted that Philip, his son, was attacked and beheaded later. whose son? I thought they meant William Bradford but I looked at his bio and didn't see where he had a son named Philip

My DVR stopped right at this point. Was there any more listed after that?

I think they meant Massasoit's son was beheaded. And Edward Winslow's son was the governor who ordered it.

Bradford did actually remarry and have other children besides John.

^ This.

Speaking of the DNR, why can't they just add a couple minutes at the end of each program. This is very annoying when the the important conclusions are chopped off.

I found where it was shown again and recorded it again and on my DVR you can have it stop or start a few minutes over, so I did that.

What did it say at the end? I can't find another showing and I missed the epilogue which explains what happened to everyone.

Philip/Metacom/Metacomet was the second son of Massasoit (which actually seems to be more of a title than a personal name). He succeeded his elder brother Alexander/Wamsutta as sachem of the Wampanoags (the Pokanokets were a tribe within the Wampanoag nation).

It's an interesting period to read about. You get the impression that there was a real effort to build a peaceful society between the colonists and the American Indians, but it couldn't last. The English and the Indians were basing their coexistence on conflicting expectations, and there were too many unresolvable grievances and cultural differences. And one of the advantages that the English had was that the relationships between Indian nations were uneasy enough that they could always find native allies to help them put down anyone who would push back against them.
