I really hate how they always kills transformers early in these movies despite the lighthearted tone

It doesn't really suit the lighthearted atmosphere of the 80s cartoon if they're just going to slice someone like Cliffjumper in half right off the bat.

And was that Starscream that Bumblebee torched in the first 5 minutes of getting to earth? Why ruin a good movie by not only having an ill-fitting tone of just popping off core characters with ease, but by disregarding the potential character development of those core characters?

Ugh, I don't know. Then again the whole movie was kind of sub-par. From its overuse of 80s music to the cliche military. The only good thing was Hailee Steinfeld.
