I one hundred percent love it. Seen it a few times already and it only gets better each time.

Decidedly small-scale, straightforward and reminiscent of a handful of well-known classics, but I don’t see any of this as a negative thing whatsoever—Travis Knight himself didn’t make any pretenses that he was going to try and break new ground with this film other than to do something different with a Transformers film. Bumblebee is expertly crafted, thoroughly entertaining, and full of charm and heart. I see it as nothing but a winner.

And despite its competition this season (e.g. Aquaman, Mary Poppins, and a cutting edge movie like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), Bumblebee still managed to stand out to me. Hands down one of my favorite films of 2018.

I'm not overly keen on the Transformers movies but this was good.

Yeah, the same sentiments have been echoed by many others. The first Transformers may be considered a solid movie by more than a few (it is a fun ride), however it’s obvious no Transformers movie has ever been well-received by critics and embraced by audiences like Bumblebee has. This new and fresh installment sure delivered.

The first Transformers movie wasn't embraced by critics, but definitely by audiences. The target audience (teens and young adults) ate it up, and younger children became so obsessed with the franchise that Hasbro actually had some difficulty producing enough toys for the Holiday season of ’07.

It really is a shame it is not doing well. I liked this movie a lot.

It was much more fun than I expected!

I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it either but it was great.

reply

Same. John Cena doesn't do it for me, but the movie was great nonetheless.

reply

The effects were good too. It was funny when Bumblebee kept trying to hide behind things.

As reboots go, this is one of the good ones. There were so many 'Iron Giant' moments that I lost count but that's a good thing cos that film is a classic. Besides, Hailee Steinfeld is a way more talented actor than Shyan LaBeef and her character more engaging and has a charming love insterest whereas LaBeef's only interest was augmented boobs. Featuring the Smiths instead of them 1980s hair bands is definitely a plus... actually the film made me feel magnanimous enough to forgive Bon Jovi and Sammy Hagar in the playlist.

Well, you always have a few.........
