I enjoyed this for the most part but I feel like it should continue as a series. The end was so anticlimactic and there is so much more historically that they can cover. I would like to see what happens to the dad that had to go back to the front, I felt for his character the most.

and well it should. This batch of 5 episodes focused on the 1916 Easter uprising and it would be another 6 years before British rule in (Most of) Ireland ended. They could easily do a season on the period 1916-1919 and another on the 1919-1921 uprising.
