Interesting concept

The director Ben Lucas had a good idea to work with in that the virtual reality “OtherLife” can create realistic memories. After watching the film I have to say the execution was a bit poor. A movie with this type of concept deserves a big budget so that’s not on the director but still left a bad impression on me. There were moments that I felt with a bigger production could have been special but just didn’t end up great on the final product. I also wasn’t a fan of the transitions and unneeded extra conversations and moments that the film had. The switch between dream and reality sequences I have seen done many times in movies and shows such as black mirror that weren’t confusing but this one was all over the place. I think the actors did a decent job and the pacing of the movie was pretty good just a few things that could have been left out and maybe could have added a bit more background into the development of OtherLife instead of starting right at the launch. Overall I’d give this movie a 2/5, it’s worth a watch but don’t go into it with heavy expectations.
