Geeeez...the show Dice is actually really good
Honestly I wasnt expecting much....I thought it would be essentially Dice doing a
character of himself that was dumb writing and all macho *beep* what I found was a show that had actually really witty writing just the right amount of dryness and Dice comes off more as a sort of homer simpson than the usual overly rude over the top Dice that most of us remember.
he isnt afraid to allow himself to look bad or silly...he can laugh at himself.
little things cracked me up....just the weirded out silly smile he gives when the 2 gay guys walk down the isle....why is this sweaty? when he hands natasha the envelope with money, and his actually rude but goodnatured interactions with the elvis impersonator. you would have expected that he would be written himself as a tough who would pummel the elvis impersonator...instead you see a back and forth of exasperation between the 2 that makes it so much better.
the brody episode was also amazing....what an actor that guy is, he nailed Dice.
I like how they hit each other in the parking lot and once again...Dice isnt afraid to make himself look silly by getting popped in the shoulder and going "my back! lol. I dont know if anyone is watching this show....but I hope they are pushing it...cause its actually quite good. Carmen is also funny in a light way...they could have made her annoying and overbearing like Larry Davids agents wife...but they thankfully made her a cool hot chick who finds all the things Dice does as fairly irritating but rolls with it like marge simpson does with Homer.
I keep coming back to homer simpson...this Dice is just like him IMO. silly stupid and yet lovable and you cant help but laugh at the situations he gets himself into. my little wish list is, they get more people on the show that are great supporting characters that are not just there to be straight men for Dice. if they create enough characters that can stand on their own without Dice, that would make the show even stronger.
in any case, well done! I hope this gets renewed!
