Mixed feelings

I was a big fan of the "Edge" and "Steele" books, and this had plenty of potential... Max Martini plays the part pretty good (although I always envisaged Danny Trejo as the title character).... the one-liner puns were there, the razor was there, the brother Jamie backstory was there, plenty of laconic violence.... yet still, there was something missing; the script just didn't do justice to the books (Edge was a Captain, not a Sergeant) and the shooting scenes were sometimes a bit corny. I enjoyed it somewhat but can see why it was never picked up past the pilot episode.
