How did the money get back to Lakeman at the end of S2?

Agathe gave it back so she could catch Tom in the same room as the money. Alice was in on it believing that if Tom was in jail, John would be free and allowed to come home. Personally I believe Agathe is manipulating Alice and fully intends to arrest John too.
