Please tell me....

I've read who the cast is. I grant you, I don't know them all, but some of them are pure comic geniuses. They are great at drama as well, they've proven that, but COMIC GENIUSES!

The death of Stalin is one of those things that could be a truly engrossing and informative drama, but it lends itself to outrageous comedic possibilities. Can anyone say which way the makers are taking this. I hope it's COMDEY.

reply

Jason Isaacs said it's satire.

reply

I agree. It could be a satire.
and since Armando Iannucci is involved, I want it to be a comedy

reply

I came across this in the news section:

"The scathing comedy was penned by Iannucci and David Schneider, in collaboration with Ian Martin."

I agree that it has the potential to be hilarious. Let's hope it comes out that way?

reply

So, it's a comedy ... what is funny about it?

reply

The jokes.

Michael Palin is playing Molotov. It HAS to be a satirical comedy. And a good one at that.

If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at the people he gave it to.

Couldn't understand what they were saying in the trailer, very british humor, also everyone's british. When a guy says "you can kiss my russian ass" I find it a bit dry and not convinced. But I'm sure if I watch the whole film I might bite it.

reply

I just read a book on Stalin

reply

Where you going to tell us anything about it and how it compares to the film, or did you just feel like telling the world what was on your reading list?

reply

Here is the book

Stalin was a brutal and paranoid man - he was killed and caused the deaths of millions. He treated family members terribly. Really nothing good to say about him.

reply

your funny

reply

apparently he died because his staff were too scared to go in his room , or fetch a doctor - whom he also distrusted.
