Jason Momoa's modern speech style
Jason Momoa talks/acts/speaks like he's on a show set in 2017, not 1700. That and his blinding white teeth really take you out of it.
shareI agree with your observations 100%, but for me it's not a distraction. I feel the authenticity is a matter of degrees. If all their accents were authentic I expect we wouldn't understand a single word. I cut my teeth on Monty Python when I was 12 back in 1976. I remember feeling quite proud when asked by my mother to interpret.
Jason Momoa does have wonderful teeth, as does most of the cast. I don't understand why they yellow up some teeth like Landon Liboiron's, but not others, like everyone that works at the tavern.
I like the show a lot. I imagine it would slow down production quite a bit to be consistent about the teeth and accents. Maybe it's up to the actors and their level of enthusiasm.
