Do they exist?
I thought Snow sharks and Ghost shark were pretty bad, but I think this one is worse.
The only thing the three have in common is that the plot summary kinda sounds good, but is a completely different story line...
Sand sharks was fairly crap as well. It wasn't made any more believable by casting Brook Hogan as a scientist.
If you called a Centaur a horses arse, would he be offended?
Sand shark was crap yet entertaining, aka typical B-flick, or maybe we'd seen too many bad ones to notice that it was just as bad?

I'm a glutton for punishment so I watched 3 Headed Shark Attack and Zombie Shark in the same afternoon.
Zombie Shark was worse than this, but not by much. Aside from Mega Shark vs. Kolossus, SyFy's "Sharknado Week" offerings this year have been pretty dire.

I can usually watch these kind of movies and get enjoyment out of how stupid they are. I couldn't watch that one.
