This movie scared the living sh!t out of me.

Not so much in the manner of the typical scary film full of pop up scares, no, more of a slow burn mystery that built unsettling feeling on top of unsettling feeling until I almost decided to shut it off 3/4s of the way through, but the tone shifted finally and relented with the pressure and we are left with a deeply sad and tragic tale to wrap it up. Great film, but don't watch it alone at night like I did.

Yeah me too. I didn't expect this to be a horror movie. I thought I was going to see a mystery/thriller. I wouldn't have watched it alone if I had known it was scary like that. The first half especially. I think the creepy music made it seem extra scary.

agreed... the way the movie moved along and the music kept me quite unsettled!

What will happen if I watch it alone? Will something get me!?!?!?! :(

I wouldn't consider it that scary or horrifying. It was a good movie nonetheless. Far preferable to films like Halloween series or Friday the 13th. It was more of a psychological thriller and a mystery. A story that keeps you guessing/thinking as it progresses. Which are the types of movies that I only watch nowadays.
