Comedy?
The description on here says Action/Sci-fi/Thriller but the trailer makes it look like a comedy, so what is it?
shareNot a comedy. It has comedic moments, but the film is dark/twisty. I'm not sure why the director edited the trailer this way, but perhaps its a marketing ploy. Not a comedy!

shareThe movie has tone and genre shifts, which are kind of Vigalondo's trademarks.
It starts as an indie romcom, and that's the vibe of the trailer, so It's not misleading at all.
Then, yeah, it becomes something else. But even at its darkest, the movie has hilarious moments. So... you can say it's a comedy. An Action/Sci-fi/Thriller dark Comedy, I guess.
Very often trailers are not made by the director or editor, but by a completely different group in the marketing department. There have been problems with this. Sometimes they seem to think they're making their own movie and completely misrepresent what the actual film is.
