I hope they have seen these documentaries!

I am a documentary junkie, and so I spend lots of time watching the ones on Netflix. Ever since Documentary Now! has been on, I can't help but watch every documentary and think what this group would do with it. There are two in particular that I would love, love, love them to do. One is "Hello I Am David." That is a documentary about the real life guy from the movie "Shine," with the kind of hyperactive, or manic guy who plays the piano. The other is, "The First Monday In May," and it is about the annual Met Gala in NYC. Anna Wintour is basically the star of this documentary. This would be so wonderful for Bill Hader to do! I would start by getting gigantic cups of coffee for him to walk around with, because she has one in pretty much every scene she is in. I would love to hear from anyone else who has happened to watch either or both of these documentaries.

I wonder if they will go after any of the "series" documentaries like "Deadliest Catch" or "Storm Chasers." The IMax film guy in Storm Chasers was almost a built in parody. Sadly, Storm Chasers might be out of the question from either the one chaser committing suicide shortly after his close encounter, or the well-liked team who was killed when a twister reversed dirction. Hard to do comedy following tragedy like that.

And of course we can't forget the greatest Mockumentary of them all, "Man Bites Dog."

I think there is no way going around to do an Michael Moore-parody once, especially on his 2000s movies.
Also I did like if they do one of those simple tank (or other weapons) documentaries, which are cheaply produced, but of which there seem to be like thousands.

I am a firearms person whose inner circle includes many of the people seen on those shows on the history channel, history detectives, etc. We were just brutal to the show "Sons of Guns" which is possibly the most hyperbole ever put into 30 minutes. They routinely showed 30 year old technology and claimed it was 'their" most recent breakthrough. Had us in stitches.

One show I really liked for a couple of seasons was Axemen which was staged mostly in the Oregon Coast Range just west of Portland. I could only imagine what mayhem they could come up with since chainsaws are frequently used. And one really needs to ask whether loggers become alcoholics or alcoholics become loggers as the two seem strongly linked.

Perhaps the most insane "non-war" event on the planet is the Isle of Man TT race. I've been watching them for years, but the second URL is a talk by the rce doctor that put a whole new spin on it. As crazy as they make these mockumentaries, I suspect reality is crazier.

I'm sure there is something in the David L.Wolper catalog that they can work with. Especially the "Appointment with Destiny" series. I consider the shootout at OK Corral to be a classic.
