I'm curious....I'm "one" myself....what is your objection to the use of the word "one" in the poster's reply?
shareI think it's the fact that instead of just saying "he is", when you say "he is one", the "one" implies an otherness, as opposed to the status quo of being straight in our heteronormative society. In any case, as far as gay people being oppressed, hearing "he is one" could be seen as a small jab, like the attempted reinforcement of the exclusivity of gay people in "regular" society.
