Did I miss something? (poss spoiler)

Just binge-watched on Netflix. Not bad. Not great. Very Canadian, insofar as characters' reactions seem off somewhat (recalling that show about collecting back haunted items from a dead relative's curiosity shop as one example).

Tom Watson, the notorious killer/Executioner ... was a minister?

I had no clue until the flashback sequence showing the genesis of his killing Sara's mother & her husband. Would be kind of a big deal, no? Given how few members of the clergy are notorious mass slashers.

Maybe it was referenced & I missed it. Still think it would have been referenced frequently in any conversation about the first murders.

I binged it as well and I don't think it was revealed until that later episode. They were trying to use it as a surprise it seems, but it was just poor writing like so many other things in this terrible show. There were times I just outright stopped the show because the moment was just too ridiculous to allow it to pass without my wife and I ranting about how garbage it was. As you said, the fact that he was clergy would be a very important footnote that would at least be mentioned once in passing, especially since the new wave of killings had a religious theme.

I think they were trying to red herring Cam's father, who became a priest after surviving Tom's attack 30 years ago. The surprise reveal that Tom was also a priest made his betrayal by Sarah's parents that much worse, since they made him betray his principals. But yeah, a very Canadian production for cable TV. I liked the kills, even though I figured out who the killer was 3 eps into my own binge session. At least the show was actually set in Canada. So many shows these days substitute Canada for any wooded US state.
