Danish police speculate that this show could be behind stones being dropped on motorways

Police on Funen are investigating whether a Netflix series may have inspired the killer who dropped a concrete slab onto a German family’s car from a motorway bridge on August 21.

A woman travelling in the car died when a 30-kilo stone struck the car where she sat with her husband and five-year-old son. The boy escaped serious injury, while the man was badly hurt.

Since that attack, more stones have been dropped on vehicles passing under bridges across Denmark. The latest episode involved an ambulance on an emergency call being hit by rocks as it passed under a motorway flyover outside of Aalborg.

on a side note there is 50,000 DKK award if you give the police tips that will lead to finding the murder that killed the woman on funen.

reply

Well their researchers suck because this isn't a Netflix show.

reply

It's on Netflix though. This having happened in another country, Netflix may be the only way of legally watching it there.

reply

Still not a Netflix show. That would make it a show shown on Netflix.

reply

I am watching "Slasher" right now on Netflix.

Hey !!!!! Adpurnell knows best......

This kind of thing has happened long before this show was even thought about. There was a family a few years back that this happened to. The woman's brain was badly damaged and part of it had to be removed or something. The case was recently back in the news due to the husband committing suicide (due to stress and grief because his wife was no longer herself). So, perhaps in this recent case, the perps got the idea after hearing about the other case? Why they immediately want to jump to it being due to a tv show is strange to me.

reply

Well, I didn't see that it was in another country at first, but the news still could have been seen on the Internet by the perps.

I have seen a clip that French taxi drivers were so angry at Uber that they throw stones from a bridge on cars they suspected to be uber.
June 25, 2015, taxi drivers went on strike in Paris to demonstrate against UberPop and VTC drivers. Several overflow occurred, the aggression of a UberX driver in Paris 10th, vandalized several cars, burning tires on the device to block or taxi drivers who throw stones at cars they think Uber of VTC or cars. On a bridge Porte Maillot in Paris, a taxi driver was filmed throwing a big pad on a black sedan. The stone will fall on the windshield and burst.

they should have locked them in the loony bin that is insane.

reply

Wow, the most crazy part about that is trying to identify what they think an Uber car is. There is no way of telling, at least not where I live. Now a Lyft car however, they have those stupid pink mustaches on the front. That could definitely be identified as it came towards the bridge, bad news for them. However throwing at random cars they think is Uber, that would suck for the poor random guy it happened to.
A side note too, taxis here charge insane amounts compared to Uber. A ride from downtown to the airport is probably around $70 here with a taxi. Uber costs around $30! No wonder they are losing. Taxi drivers need to seriously start dropping prices if they still want a job in 5 years.

reply

Normal people with a brain and common sense don't throw stones on the highway from a bridge so it is natural to believe the murder has been inspired by something.
but he is most likely an insane individual.

reply

As soon as that happened in the show though I was like ...oooh that's gonna come back to haunt them. Personally I'd have found something else to do. Stuff like that is TOO easy for the sickos to try...

You Suck...now deal with it.

The incidents of rock throwing from overpasses predate the show by many years. For years, Austin, TX was plagued by a serial rock thrower who targeted victims on I-35 and nearly killed many people and ruined some lives. In 2014, my best friend's wife was driving on I-35 and became one of his victims. I still remember the night she posted on Facebook about leaving a concert and having a huge rock smash her windshield. At the time, we weren't aware of the other incidents but eventually they numbered in the hundreds. The perpetrator would often stop to help the motorists under the guise of a concerned citizen. It wasn't until learning of the other incidents that my friend realized who she had encountered, and it was pretty creepy. The guy was finally caught either last year or sometime early this year and I remember she was on Facebook expressing relief about it.

reply

What a crock. Google it and you'll find the many thousands of news stories where this has happened since the dawn of road bridges.

Even if this psycho had been inspired this series, the only difference it will have made was the method of killing. Healthy-minded people don't watch murder on the TV and then suddenly decide to go and murder someone.

reply

yeah this is nothing new. In my are here in Australia, it would have been at least 10yrs ago, prob more, there was a series of events of rocks been thrown off walking bridges over the main highway. They eventually had to put these large wire mesh fences along them to stop it happening
