...when he finds Becca's thesis and kicks her out of his house without giving her a chance to explain. Why should she have to explain anyway? If he couldn't see that Becca really loved his daughter then he's a moron.
Guess they needed something bad to happen to carry the story but this turn of events was implausible. As I said before, NOBODY could be that dumb. But I'll admit that I liked the movie, including the little girl with the "annoying voice" (see below). How could anyone say that about her?

agreed. It's better to fast forward through that part - or better still, stop watching at the end of the "star-gazing" scene. The story's pretty much run its course by this point and all that comes after are a couple of annoyingly contrived conflicts to stretch the run time a bit.
