Top 10 The Muppets Moments

I was very sorry to hear The Muppets was cancelled. I will always be thankful that the show existed even if for only a short time. Not just for the show's own entertainment but for restoring my interest in the Muppet franchise.

I was a big Muppet fan in my childhood up to the release of Muppets From Space but by the time of the 2011 Muppet movie I couldn't have cared less about them (which is just as well since the point of the 2011 movie was how the Muppets had slipped into obscurity and showed attempts at bringing The Muppets back into the limelight). When I heard The Muppets were getting an ABC show I was willing to give it a shot and the show was wonderful.

Top Ten Moments Of The Muppets

10. Kristin Chenoweth accidentally causes a rift in the Muppet band. When they realize this, the band members make up and strand Chenoweth in the middle of the desert.

9. The heartwarming moment of Bobo offer Kermit a hug after the frog publicly humiliates himself by falsely accusing Fozzie's girlfriend of cheating at a trivial contest.

8. Scooter's fight with Elizabeth Banks

7. Bobo: I've always felt Fozzie and I had a special connection.
Skooter: That right, you're the only 2 bears that work on this show.
Bobo: Bears? I meant we're both swim buddies at the YMCA.

6. Anticipating a night on the town with his co-workers, Bunson remarks "tonight my PhD stands for Pretty Hard Drinking"

5. Jay Leno's appearance. The only two network shows I watched this season were The Muppets And The Simpsons so it amuses me that the TV season began with Leno appearing in a September Muppet episode and saw Leno appearing in the May 8 Simpsons episode "To Currier With Love".

4. Floyd: The problem with you is that you think the world revolves around you when we all know it revolves around the Moon which is why we have winter!

3. Statler repeatedly pranking Fozzie and receiving no come-uppance for it.

2. Kermit: Has Tom Bergeron been told we don't need him?
Tom Bergeron: (dejected) No, but he figured as much (exits)
Scooter: I'll send him a nice gift basket with extra special salami
Kermit: Wait, Scooter... regular salami is fine.

And the #1 moment of The Muppet Show is... Piggy getting arrested for trespassing on Christina Applegate's property. Piggy was so the center of the Muppets world in the fall episodes that's it's a pleasure to see Piggy pay for her jerk-ish self-centered ways just once.
