She was still married

Why did no one take into consideration that Mila's character is still married. At this point she's only asked her husband to move out. (I wonder under whose authority does he obey?)
Anyway, if she kicks him out for doing the online masturbation, under what category of adultery does her actually have sex with another man fall into. Jay Hernadez' character doesn't wonder where her husband is? The two other moron friends have nothing to say about it either? Then she still wants to go to therapy?
I know it's a comedy, but cheating plays a major part in it. I guess it's just lazy writing.

The marriage was dead.

She figures if he's willing to try she will too.

It's not lazy writing it's one of the truest bits of the film

No tears please, it's a waste of good suffering.

So having a visual sexual and emotional relationship on the Internet with another woman for ten months isn't cheating? I'm sorry but... Tit for tat. He had it coming.

Jessie asked her about her husband in the bar, she told him that her husband was out of the picture. That's pretty much enough for any horny guy wanting to bang the hot chick.

No, its lazy watching.

The husband wasn't just kicked out of the house, he flew 2000 miles to be with the other woman. She had all moral rights to bone whomever she pleased at that point.

When she banged awesome dad, that seemed like a plot point to show that she gave up on the marriage or was as uncommitted to the marriage as her husband. Up to that point, she had the integrity and maturity, I think the writers meant to show that she is as superficial as her husband.

If it had been written different, she could have showed interest in awesome dad, but said something like, "sadly, I'm not quite available yet." Then she'd be viewed as a victim, rather than a participant in a failed marriage.

She had already stated their marriage had been over for years. He moved in with the internet skank!

a real man would've kicked he woman out . i did it and wouldn't give her a divorce and it's been 3 years. she's ot getting anything from me.
it is different with kids but there's no kids.

You cheated on your wife, kicked her out of the house, and then wouldnt agree to a divorce? That doesnt sound like a real man. That sounds like an immature teenager's actions.

reply

They're separated. Good for her.

reply

You cheated on your wife

Who said he cheated on his wife? People seem to be under the mistaken impression that if a woman tells a man to leave (his own house), he's somehow obligated to to so.

Are you from the U.S.? I don't think there are any states in the U.S. where you can refuse to "give" somebody a divorce.

They're separated. That means you take time apart and live single lives (basically) to see if you miss each other, before going through all the legal hassle of a divorce.

Dating and sex are usually part of that...unless you're still devoted to the separated spouse. And neither of the characters were into the other by that point.
