I agree with others about the poor plot and bad script in this. They got quite capable actors but they had nothing good to work with. While the first movie didn't scream with originality, but it still managed to be entertaining and witty than this cash grab. Overrecycled action scenes, nothing that we haven't seen before. Seriously, is the cliched profanity from a famous celeb passes up for a good comedy nowdays? And that aweful overbearing score theme over and over, and over, ugh...

I don't mind the poor plot and such... the problem with this one is that it's just not much fun...

A lot of whining by the main character... non-thrilling action scenes... too much explaining and talking to fill in plot holes that the internet-peanut-gallary will examine in their OSD way... nerd culture is mainstream now... In the past if the filmmakers even bothered with continuity between films in a silly movie like this, it would be one throwaway line and then they'd get on with having fun...

Julian Moore was good in this, I thought the movie would suffer with not having Samuel Jackson, but she's pretty creepy in this and properly over the top.

I really do agree with you on the recycled action scenes, even recycled from the first movie... poor effort. They played it far too safe.

I can't believe I'm going to say this about an action movie, but there were too many fight scenes. Or maybe not too many, but they were too samey IMO. I liked Elton John though. Also, Julianne Moore was a delightful villain.

It wasn't as fun as the first one, yes. It was a bit of a letdown, true. But the friend I was with, that hasn't seen the first one, had a great time. And I had some fun with it as well. So, not the best, but not so bad either.

I'll also add that not only was the score too much, all the music and sound FX and what-not were too loud. Was this a problem with anyone else, or was it just in my theater? The sound level was barely tolerable.

Elton John was the only one in the movie that cracked me up, especially during the little ransom video.."GET THE F OUT OF MY ROOM!!"

After the church scene in the first movie....everything else is just a letdown...

Julianne moore was sexy and frightening. It was disappointing but still fun.

I made the mistake of buying this cold. I really wish I had rented it first, because of how big a disappointment it is (regardless of how good the first one was). This one was really lazy and sloppy.

It seems like they set it up for a sequel. If that happens, I have one thing to say to the crew: PUT A LITTLE MORE EFFORT INTO IT.
