If Ben and Kasey Win...

Than this show was completely *beep* pointless.

"This week on Fox, a CARPENTER/HANDYMAN" wins a house by beating four women who could barely swing a hammer seven weeks ago in a home renovation competition."...Now there is something everyone at home wants to see.

Wonder what their next show idea will be...."An average Joe, with Lebron James as his partner has just won tickets to the NBA finals by winning a 2-on-2 tournament against six people with polio."

I don't mean to be a jerk or anything, but people have to admit that it's not quite an even playing field when you have a mix-gendered team where the man works professionally in the field that the challenges pertain to....If Kasey was doing this challenge with her sister or anther woman, is she still getting her pick of projects by winning drill down challenges every week? I think not !

I'll admit, I was not a big fan of Oreonna and Tiffany when the show started because I did not think they were doing great work and they had attitude issues..However, they have grown tremendously, especially in the creative department and have earned their spot in the finals...I truly hope they win, because at least then the ending would not be something I could have called from week #1.

I think it's unfair too that someone who is actually a carpenter is even allowed to be on the show. Even though he has experience the stuff they make is tacky anyway. I hope Oreonna and Tiffany win, they have done some nice designs and didn't get enough credit for it. The last week when Kasey took over Tiffany's design challenge and made the wrong color choices she tried to throw Tiffany and Oreonna under the bus to Mike, that's when I stopped liking them.

He isn't the only one of the show with that type of work experience, they just happened to be eliminated early on. The first or second episode had a large team composed of people with construction and landscaping experience, while the other team was just a bunch of artists. He doesn't even seem that experienced as there has been plenty of times on the show where he's had to be taught how to use specific tools and the proper techniques on how to do tasks correctly.
It's not as if he is some high profile contractor who has been building houses for the past 20 years. He barely seems that much more experienced than the two little sisters who probably had troubles hanging pictures before being on the show.

Lets also not forget that it's not JUST about who can swing a hammer. You have to have some artistic abilities and an eye for design, something he obviously doesn't have a history of. The judges obviously base their decision on how the houses LOOK and now how well constructed they actually are (Which is why the majority of the teams in the tail end of the season were arty people). And Mike Holmes seems to base his decisions on the contestants work ethics and their desire to want to do better.

IF they end up winning (which is fairly likely) then it won't be based on the fact that, theoretically, one of them has had a longer history with swinging a hammer. It will because they worked hard and proved they spent their time on the show learning and growing, and becoming efficient in not just building things, but making them look nice too.

Ben is a piece of crap. His Christian missionary parents should be embarrassed by his actions. Disgusting
