Well cast

How refreshing to see a Hallmark-type movie with the hero and heroine in their twenties and not played by 40 year olds slathered in make-up. The actress who played Emma was fresh-faced and attractive, though not a conventional beauty. Kind of reminded me of Tea Leoni. Also liked Prince Duncan, and He reminded me of Damien Lewis! A real fairy tale, come to life. Sweet escapism, capped by a cute little "where they are now" at the end.

agreed, very well cast and nice performances too..the younger sister was also good and it was quite above the standard christmas movies.

One of my favorites so far this Christmas time...a lot of Prince and Princess Christmas movies...good fun...I can watch with my nieces and not have to worry about the "sex scenes"...

I liked the actors too, as well as the locations. I am amused however by your examples of who they remind you of. Téa Leoni is 49 and Damian Lewis is 44, well into the age group that you expressed your relief that these young actors are not! ;)

And not to mention the cute mentioning of Holiday Road Trip(2012) and All I Want for Christmas(2013), both by ION! Subtle.

The actress playing Emma looks a lot like UK actress Jodie Whittaker.

Re Duncan, I don't see a resemblance to Lewis, but he does look a lot like Hugh Jackman, imo.

reply

I definitely see the comparison to Jodie Whittaker!

Uncanny, isn't it? The first time I saw this movie I thought it was her, esp the way she looked in Cranford opposite Tom Hiddleston.

reply

I literally came on here to see if anyone else thought the same haha

Good piece of fluff! I caught it flipping through stations one night and watched the whole movie. Viva Bianca played Ilithyia in STARZ' "Spartacus", I'm surprised no one has mentioned that yet. She was beautiful in Spartacus. She looked okay in this movie, but what was with the HAIR?!
Actually, I thought the girl who played the younger sister was very pretty.

I would suggest that there is generally little overlap in the audience's for Spartacus and TV Christmas movies? But I agree, a better than usual piece of fluff and the younger sister was good and not just because she was pretty - though of course she is.

it's tripe. badly written, poorly acted tripe.
