Absolute garbage..

This fictitious mess has little to do with Harriett Tubman and is more about attempting to make her slave master a sympathetic hero in the movie. He apparently is so in love with Harriet Tubman that he kills the made up Black bounty hunter who was dead set on returning Harriet to slavery. Now this has to nothing but pure propaganda aimed more at appeasing white audiences whether than giving a true accounting of Harriet Tubman's life. The movie is pure fiction and sure to bomb.

I recently just watched it for the first time. The movie felt like some kind of Harriett Tubman fan-fiction, lol. I don't think the movie was absolutely terrible, but...something about it seemed off. It's one of those movies that just make me roll my eyes and say - "Come on! You can make a better movie than this!"

I actually thought it was a major letdown as well. Cynthia Erivo is the sole bright spot. But the story is sloppily written and the interesting stuff is shoved into the background.
