Close in tone to the failed pilot in the early 2000s.

I had been hoping that the tone would be closer to the Markie Post 2000ish failed TV pilot than the semiserious original. I found the Markie Post vehicle slightly funnier and did more with less budget. Or maybe I just liked the premise (washed up superhero being dragged back into the life cynically by a spunky new sidekick) to this one.

But still it was an enjoyable 80 minutes with a couple genuine laughs.
