"Am I the only one who noticed a huge tone shift here?"

Jesus, it's as if I'm watching a completely different show! Trunks AND GOTEN get character development, Vegeta gets even more likable, Goku gets a bit more likable even though he's still a naive fckwit, Beerus actually threatening to erase Goku from existence because his naivete could be a danger to the universe...

I mean, come on, why the fck were you hiding all of this Toei?! This feels much better than what we've had so far (what we've had was between mediocre to good, what we've got with this episode is off the good scale and right onto the damn epic scale!)

This has gotten me EVEN MORE excited for where Super is going! Bring on the Universal Survival Arc! If they keep on this path, there's not telling just how epic it'll get!

I'm interested, though not in the battles (although we got Mystic-orange Gi-Gohan back). I've read comments and they infer that Goku's naive, do-anything-for-a-fight mindedness is being focused as an actual story plot. I would really like to see how that goes.

It is. Goku's idiocy will lead to the destruction of a lot of universes since Zeno-Sama will add a rule he didn't anticipate: If you lose, you don't just lose the fight, your Universe will be destroyed by Zeno himself. Once he realises that, he'll probably hate himself for it and maybe it'll help him grow as a character...

And that can lead to something else... What if Goku decides that it's all because of his God Ki that he acquired and makes the wish on the Super Dragon Balls to lock it away and wipe their mind of everything that transpired in Super... Which leads into GT? I can actually see them do that to force GT to become canon again. I hope it's not like that, but if it is...

GT is *beep* and in no way should be propped up by Super.

I agree that Goku might learn from this but I don't think Zeno goes through with wiping out the other universes. If I had to guess Goku wins and Zeno offers him a request and he asks him to spare the others or during the tournament the Zeno brothers enjoy the fights so much that they want to hold the tournament again in tbe future.

I just can't see Goku and his group winning and allowing the other universes to be destroyed.

Well, it would actually bring some actual drama back into Dragon Ball. I mean, ever since after the Namek Saga, drama or high stakes was gone from Dragon Ball.

"Oh no, Vegeta died! Whatever shall we-"
*"Namek Dragon Balls."
"Oh yeah... We've got those."

Seriously, I want Goku to learn something from this because anything and everything he's done, it's been without any severe reprecussions...

But yeah, GT is utter, utter, UTTER fcking sh!t, but apparently the sh!t is still popular in Japan.
