I don't know...I think the only reason he got nominated was bc ..

he's a minority and touches upon social justice issues. TV criticism lately is dominated by Socially conscious people who eat this stuff up. Also, the fear of #Oscarssowhite made thiw voting body desperate to avoid similar charges.

The funny thing is I loved Tom Haverford but that character couldn't get nominated (which supports my theory that Ansari only got nominated because of the recent craze that nominating minorities and writing preachy TV that will make SJWs swoon will make the world a better place) and this is just a more self-centered, pontifical version of Haverford with an inexplicably more active sex life.

Sorry man but I disagree. I've binge watched this show with some family and we all loved it. I am now a fan of this man.

This series had some real clunker episodes, but pretty much every aspect is better than Unbreakable Kimmey Schmidt which also got a lot of nominations two years in a row.

I have to disagree. They do tough on these issues, but it´s not a show only about them. It won Best Comedy Writing, which was well deserved in my oppinion. What stood out to me most was the relatable portrayal of his relationship and other little things that had little to nothing to do with him being Indian.

Nothing to do with the fact that he's a minority. Aziz Ansari rocks in this role...In addition, the writing win for the parents episode was so well deserved.
