Watched it for a second time, even worse than the first.

The only thing even remotely interesting is when they touch on themes involving their immigrant parents. I don't mind he used his own parents and that they touch on how many sacrifices people of the old made for their families. It does make for an interesting topic.

Everything else in the show is subpar and irrelevant.
-Topics on sex, dating, and relationships have been executed better by hundreds of other sitcoms.
Topics on social issues are basically irrelevant now. Not to mention other comedians and even other shows, movies, documentaries, and other sitcoms come at these issues in more subtle and digestible ways.
-Cast of diverse characters (with a token white guy) are not believable and boring.
-Topics on tropes involving different races and ethnicity in film and tv is a known issue and also irrelevant because it rarely happens anymore.
-Lastly, this is basically a clone of Louis and Maron except it's more sluggish and direct in it's execution.

I think there's room to explore social issues in tv still, but this show did it poorly. Themes were
-Your immigrant parents sacrificed a lot
-Old people are human
-Sexism exists, watch out for it (this was the most nuanced one)
-The entertainment industry has racist casting practices

The acting in this show was also horrible pretty much from top to bottom and had some very familiar elements (a bunch of young singles living in nice apartments in NYC)

Overall I think this show is a worse version of Atlanta, which does a great job of tackling social issues and is hilarious, well acted and original.

Maybe you should try visiting one of the big metropolitan cities in America like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Atlanta, etc. because you'll see people of different ethnicities do socialize quite OFTEN.
