I'm only 30 minutes in, but one of the first songs is Blackalicious? Amazing. Could stop right there, but then the graffiti scene had an awesome mix with Sugar Hill Gang, Black Sheep, Run-D.M.C. of what I could pick up on.
There was some newer auto-tune songs that I wasn't as into, but whoever curated that classic hip hop stuff is on point.
It’s a fantastic soundtrack alright. I’m not crazily into a number of the newer songs myself (nothing to do with them being modern) but some of them were used really well in the film, particularly the song that plays in the sequence with Miles unleashing his full powers towards the end (that upside down shot is marvelous - one of the greatest).
But yeah, hearing all the classic stuff was cool.
