Thank you for correcting a misconception, movie!

When Miles steals the computer at the laboratory, he also baffingly brings along the monitor it was connected to. This annoyed me at first, but then Spider-Man catches up with him and tells him he doesn't need the monitor, and I was greatly satisfied by this. The thing is, many newbies to computers think that the desktop PC will not work at all if it doesn't have the monitor, and most movies show the characters turning off the PC by simply turning off the monitor, which is not correct. Thank god this movie dispels this misconception, once and for all.

Somewhat related... there was a stupid Modern Family episode where a laptop being used by Luke and Manny freezes with a frame from a porn site on the monitor. They spend the entire episode trying to get someone to "fix" it before they get caught.

Duh... maybe just turn off the laptop? Yeesh.

There are normal computers and then there are Hollywood computers.

Having worked in I.T. desktop level support longer than any one person should be subjected to , i can tell you if you ask the average person what the bit under the monitor is called they will say "the hard drive"
