Anyway, they're running out of franchises to blackwash or multiculturalize. They've already used most popular franchises since the 70s. Marvel is very much done: comics are not selling anymore and the new movies cycle is likely to be a failure.
DC is converging too. DC comics are going down the multicultural hole, like Marvel ones did. That will reach the movies sooner or later.
This Spider-Man movie may even not be able to break even.

Funny, but kind of true.
Then again, Hollywood.... is a very sick industry right now. They poop out reboots, remakes and crappy sequels like they are suffering from a perpetual diarrhea. Things are so bad that they think replacing main characters with peeps of different gender or color is an ingenious spark of creativity and/or originality.
Expect more sequels, reboots, remakes with changed gender/sexual preference/race peeps from the cancer-ridden Hollywood - cause new ideas are no more. As others have pointed out though, Marvel is just as sick as Hollywood - they had more reboots/remakes than even the Hollywood.
Cultural appropriation sometimes doesn't bother those who blubber the loudest about it.
