It's kind of surprising not to see any posts here for this film. The film is decent - the script is good and the acting is good.

Most of my posts here are negative - because I see a lot of holes in films; and flaws either in the scripts of the acting - this film, on the other hand, is legit. I'm not sure what to compare it to - OZ? Only parts of the films are shot in prison. I think at the end of the day, the film shows how a fairly decent human being can turn into a hard core criminal after spending time in prison for a car accident.

I highly recommend seeing it.

I thought it was a great movie. Can't believe I didn't hear anything about it. Pretty much every review I have seen was very positive. Check it out!

It's got a 7.6 rating on imdb

I thought it was a really good film with solid writing/directing from Ric and performances from Nikolaj and the other actors. The final 20 minutes was awesome! The musical score really elevates this from your typical crime drama thriller.

Agreed! Never heard of this before until I saw it today. Enjoyed it very much and it's much better than most of the films in theaters these days. The acting was good, escpecially from Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. But I must say it was odd at first to see Lake Bell as the wife because I've only seen her in comedies, but she was just fine.

Thought it was pretty mediocre to be honest....Seen it all before.
Didn't like the way it switched from past to present. Had the story been told in a more linear way, it may have been a better film.
Still it was pretty derivative and boring overall.

Decent movie, but I found it hard to believe that a business man goes to prison and goes from nothing to #2 in a gang and is upon release immediately put in charge of smuggling weapons. He would have had no experience handling gang activities like that on the outside.

I also suspect that a business man with no past criminal record, a DUI and vehicular homicide or whatever would find a way to avoid gang life.

I think the reason why I liked it is because I believe that a normal human being can actually be turned into a criminal rather easily - especially if placed in an environment where acting like a criminal is the only way to survive without being subdued/raped (prisons, unfortunately).
