From street racer to a-team to...

This series started out with a decent street racer movie starring a charasmatic actor, then...

It devolved quickly into a series of A-team type action adventure movies...

... and the last one was firmly a we-are-family team celebration, it even had a clown in the form of the Rock...

I liked the first movie, was bored by the third and found the one previous to this one tedious... is it worth seeing this? Where will the series go from here? What kind of movie will it become? Full-on soap opera (kinda already is ), rom-com between rock and statham or will become a superhero movie like guardians/avengers?

Thoughts?

I think it has already become a superhero movie... even Rodriguez can handle a hulking Russian soldier with ease. They are superheroes, but with cars!

It had to change.

Vin Diesel was the reason it never picked up from number one because he didn't want to do sequels at the time, took him ages before he did Pitch Black 2, now he's doing them all (xXx the latest of them).

2 Fast 2 Furious was ok, Tokyo Drift was just bad IMO, and Fast And Furious in 2009 was really bad, so they bought in The Rock and almost soft rebooted it for Fast Five. What you've gone now is just mindless fun and OTT action. If you're questioning it then you might want to look elsewhere.
