Was going to end up like the "Planet Of the Apes" remake?
I was seriously waiting for them to land and talk to the air traffic controller, only to have the air traffic controller on the ground congratulate them with a "heil Hitler" or something like that. Maybe see some swastikas on the ground crew or security escorting them off the plane.
Would have been much cooler than that "slow walk".... just sayin
I honestly thought that was going to happen as well. I thought they were going to land in the modern day and find out that somehow Hitler got the radar and won World War II and that they would land in some type of Nazi world. As soon as I heard the German voice on the radio I automatically thought that's what was going to turn out to be the case. But I still thought the twist at the end was interesting. I kind of felt that they would probably try to get in contact with the radio operator once they returned to the present day. But it does raise the question of whether that guy had something to do with the time travel in the first place, but I guess it wasn't the case because it was just a time warp and I think they made that pretty clear.
shareI think they purposely teased an Ape Lincoln ending to catch the audience off guard with Nigel being on the plane the whole time. I felt it would have also been a nice touch if Captain William Strong walked by a hangar or out onto the runway and discovered the airport is now named after him.
