Why isn't she at the house she inherited from Engels?

I mean, i can understand why she'd maybe not want to live there after what happened with her neighbours, but suddenly she's back living at one of her mother's properties. did she sell it?

reply

I wondered the same thing.
Figured they would have at least had the house in the story somewhere if just to say she sold it.

I came here to ask the same thing. They should have mentioned it or said she was staying at this place for whatever reason

In the Book "Real Murders" she hadn't inherited the house from Jane Engels yet. That was the real problem I had with this movie, is that they really messed with the timeline. In this movie, Detective Arthur Smith and Detective Lynn Liggette were already married and had a child, and that didn't happen in Real Murders. I just wish they had decided to make more movies out of the book series, so they didn't have to mash all the event up into one movie.

The night is dark, and full of terrors.

They didn't. This isn't the first movie. Yes, its the movie of the first book, but the decided to do Bone To Pick first because they felt it introduced the characters better. there are a lot of in movie references to that movie in Real Murders. so in the movie-verse, she HAD already inherited the house from Jane.
