Stupidest show ever

Love british tv.
but this load of crap should not have left the idea stage.
a medical Doctor so unprofesional, blabbing to everyone about
confidential information. just wanna barf!!

reply

Very unrealistic! Besides total unprofessional medical behavior,
no woman (except for someone like Mrs. Bill Clinton) would let a
man treat her like that!
(Esp. while she's supporting him!)

Hate to break it to ya, but the world is FULL of women who let their men treat them like that, and far worse. There are so many beaten wives out there they had create domestic abuse laws to take decision making out of their hands because otherwise they just keep going back for more, over and over again. Doesn't matter if it's physical, sexual or emotional abuse, cheating, stealing, whatever... women just keep taking it. (some men too)

There have been some silly things in this show, but her reaction and willingness to tolerate him and even take him back at one point is entirely "realistic".

Absolutely loved it, and think it's quite realistic.

I love British TV, but this show is horrible, the main character is so horrible, but the actress was pretty good.

Very unrealistic!!!

reply

I found it very gripping and poignant.

reply

I think that the point of the show.
She is a flawed person and we get to see her story play out

reply

I know right! Feel like I just lost hours of my life that I can't get back. Couldn't feel any sympathy for the main character after she slept with her neighbor's husband for absolutely no reason.

reply

It wasn't for no reason. She did it to blackmail him into getting the accounts info. She had to set herself up first. She knew he had a thing for her, so she used it to her advantage. But it wasn't for no reason.

reply

Or bribing a patient with a script to get her to follow the husband.😞

"What would you like to see on your honeymoon, Mrs. Cord?"
"Lots of lovely ceilings."

reply

She only became unprofessional out of stress, insecurity, jealousy, and rage. Everything she did that was unprofessional was to uncover the truth about her husband. Entirely realistic if you're a man and ever dated an easily jealous women. I've experienced some pretty crazy behavior myself. She started going on a downwards spiral more and more each episode, so it's not a surprise her actions became more unprofessional and more emotionally driven.

And she only chose to stay with him for a while because she found out by her friend that her husband and the mistress broke up and chose not to have the kid. She thought the affair was over. Remember, they were married a very long time. It takes a lot more than cheating to make some one fall out of love.

I thought it was a great show. Depicted pretty realistic behavior of a woman's scorn, and the lengths people in unhealthy relationships will go to cause pain or seek revenge out of spite. An endless cycle for some. I guess you'd have to have been in a toxic relationship before to take it more seriously.

Also liked the last scene where the kid was looking at super hero's in a book, then his mom runs off to rescue some one in need. It's like he realized at that point his mom was the stronger parent, with better morals and heart, even if she wasn't as fun as his dad.

So? Her reasons are not "reasons". She was still highly unprofessional and should have had her license yanked for bribing a patient and threatening someone else. There are no excuses for what she did.

I thought she came off as slightly crazy. Quickly paranoid about her husband without any obvious reasons for being so. Went full bore suspicious, even to b bribing a patient with drugs, then threatening someone else with revelations about medical records. Crazy town stuff.

Confront the husband and/or hire a real investigator. But then we wouldn't have a cheap, over the top tv series, with a husband who doesn't just cheat with one woman but with ALL her friends. Ridiculous plot and characters.

Great show with great writing and acting. I wish it had been more than just two series. The end of Series 2 leaves if open for more, but the makers seem to have said no.
