Why move it...

Modus is based on the novel Pengemannen by Anne Holt, first published in English translation as Fear Not and now being hawked as Modus to go with the serial of course.

However Fear Not is not set in Stockholm and Uppsala or in Sweden at all but in Oslo and Bergen in Norway. Hardly surprising as Holt is Norwegian writer.

The Swedish production companies seem to have been leading this with Norwegian, Danish and German co-producers. But it still seems a bit curmudgeonly to lift the thing entire from one country to another.

It could hardly have made any difference to overseas viewers so I wonder if it was thought that the shift was important for it to have appeal to Swedish viewers?
