The Guardian does Modus -- Better than Modus does Modus? Discuss?
Makes me wonder about the popularity of the latest BBC4 Scandi slot drama if one of only two really active threads about it is speculation about the appearance of Caravan Man and whom he might resemble? Mon dieu Ing.
Okay, let's just say it. This particular Scandi series is perhaps not one of the finest moments in the Scandi genre. To say the least!
It's "paint by numbers" demographic drama as reviewed by one newspaper critic.
The best thing about this series, and I'm not kidding at ALL, is the blog by the Guardian reporter that does the episode by episode recaps with her list of questionable plot points at the end.
I've now begun to watch Modus only to have the background for the Main Event--The Modus blog.
Further, the viewer/reader public comments section below is some of the best reading around, that is telly oriented. Some brilliant observations about this naff show.
The viewers clearly have "embraced the suckiness" of this series in the way you do when perhaps something is SO bad, it's just so good.
