Petersburg VA

I live just outside of petersburg, about 3 mins walking distance from where they film alot of the show. My mother and my kids love that a tv show is being filmed so close and enjoy going to watch. We dont even mind the evenings filled with gunshots and canon fire! Today they had the green screens, wagons, horses, and cows out in full force! Its kind of fun. That part of petersburg is great! They have so many wonderful shops, especially antiques, and plenty of places to eat. An abundance of historical sites, including a museum on my street that was robert e. lees headquarters for a short time. The rounded building that you see on the show used to be a bar/dance club when i was younger and a farmers market during the day. Next to it is ironworks where during the summer you can catch live music and have a few drinks. Many people visit richmond and dont bother with petersburg even though its nearby but its a great place to visit if you come to the area! I just wanted to share that bit of info before the boards go down. :)
