Why don't you all try out the Italian Pinocchio (2019)?

It's full-on live-action, in a world where many wondrous creatures exist outside of Pinocchio himself, and he even has several friends who are also wooden puppets who look and act realistically human (thanks to the top-notch CGI).

I think it's truer to the original story than fucking Disney's remake crap and while it has more creepy imagery like a hanging scene (that upset stupid people because Pinocchio is a WOODEN PUPPET and so won't strangle to death like a human boy) and a talking tuna fish I found scary at first, I found it far more fulfilling and free of American consumerist crap the moment that Pinocchio DOES become a real boy!

Because of the hanging scene and the dub, this movie is being mauled in the ratings, but my only main beef is the lack of an original Italian dub, focusing instead on an English dub where the characters speak with an Italian accent. Go figure.

But I highly recommend this over that turgid Disney remake.

I didn’t like the 2019 film. The portrayal of the animals in the movie was shockingly ridiculous. You might as well watch a film with a black fairy. And Pinocchio in that movie was a jerk who you honestly wanted to choke. Stay away.
