I missed the first four or five minutes of the movie, perhaps, something I missed?

Was Jane (Savannah) actually the true daughter of the woman and Robert her murdered husband? Where was she all those "missing" years and how did she get too New York? Was she in a orphanage with Finch? I would think the boyfriend would of killed her as a child too keep her quiet? I guess my question IS is Jane really Savannah OR just someone the mother and her new husband" handpicked" so they could keep all the money, and was the little girl a ghost? Confusing movie, good acting by all, but I would of enjoyed it moore having understood it. Too many plotholes and unanswered endings, can anyone help or explain? Thanks!

The first five minutes explain quite a bit. The best part of the movie was the first sixty seconds! The two hunters were awesome!

It seemed as if this whole thing took place in a mental institution. Remember Finch saying Jane was having a nervous breakdown?

I would think the boyfriend would of killed her as a child too keep her quiet?
He tried unsuccessfully to bury her alive as a child, however, he made the grave too shallow

I guess my question IS is Jane really Savannah OR just someone the mother and her new husband" handpicked" so they could keep all the money, and was the little girl a ghost? Yes, she is Savannah. Her Mom was jealous of her and wanted $$$.
