I was looking for info to see if the character of Mylene was influenced by Irene Cara. Irene was born in NYC in 1959, would be the right age... Although Irene's "fame" came as an actress/singer.

It is a figure of speech meaning she is reminiscent and or the "splitting image" of a young Irene Cara
