Mylene and her 'Uncle'

Anyone else think her uncle is actually her dad and that's why he is being so involved in her life?

I wondered that too. Of course, it's also possible that he is just reminded of Marlene's mother at that age or simply reveres the child because it is the offspring of the woman he loves

It's sort of implied that he might be her dad, because it's hinted that Mylene's mother and the uncle might have had a fling before she got with his brother. So,yeah, that's what I think. Also, he's definitely more supportive of Mylene's dreams than her father is. It seems to me that her uptight father couldn't deal with the fact that Mylene is nearly a grown woman now, so he wants to basically stifle the hell out of her with religion. I mean, come on----he wasn't even going to let her sing the lead solo in her choir. No wonder she just said, "Screw it, I'll sing what I want anyway," and tore it up with that cool "Set Me Free" song. That being said,I can't wait to see the rest of the show, after seeing the whole first half so far.

It was pretty much confirmed at the end of the last episode when he referred to Mylene as "our girl" to her mother when they were about to get their fLuck on.

Im about positive..especially after the last episode..and the "Uncle" made some comment to Mylene's mom in an earlier episode that he has slept alone since 1960. I'm paraphrasing that comment..but the time line matches up with Mylene's age.
