I don't know what they were thinking making her turn 40 this season. She has to be the oldest looking 39 year old ever.

Agreed. She looks 45.

The actress is 45, almost 46, and she looks that old or older. Sometimes they can get away with that if the actress looks young. I was watching Grace and Frankie, and they said Jane Fonda's character was only 70, which I knew wasn't the case because she's been around for decades, and I don't remember her ever being really young. But Jane Fonda is the workout queen and looks great for her age (78, probably 77 at the time the episode was filmed). Michaela Watkins does not.

I didn't know the actresses age and I thought she could pass for 40

Exactly what I thought.
I just watched the first episode and laughed out loud when the brother said something like, (to the men on his website), "you're the ideal 36 year old woman".
36???
I thought she was 58. She could pass for 56, at a stretch.
Without exaggeration, I have 60 and 70 year old relatives who look younger than her.
Her body could pass for mid 40's, her face tells a different story.

I won't watch a second episode, the characters aren't likeable or interesting.

You are right that they aren't likable... however you do grow to pity them.
